Exclusive Shore Event: Adelaide | Wine and Dine in the Beautiful Barossa Valley
Our day with a scenic 45-minute drive through South Australia's cosmopolitan capital of Adelaide to the Penfolds Magill Estate. An urban vineyard just outside the city in the Adelaide Hills, Penfolds Magill Estate is in partnership with their Barossa Valley vineyard as the creators of Penfolds Grange an Australian icon and heritage listed wine protected by the National Trust of South Australia. Upon our arrival at the vineyard, we will embark on tour to the historic vintage cellar, experience the underground drives, and see the original hiding spot of pioneering Australian winemaker Max Schubert's hidden Grange. Our visit concludes with an extravagant wine tasting before we make our way to the world-famous Barossa Valley, a region renowned for its production of Shiraz grapes and high profile wineries. The picturesque stone cottages and Lutheran churches you will observe throughout the valley are testament to the 19th century wave of German settlers in the region.
As our coach arrives at Seppeltsfield Winery, we will be met by accomplished wine connoisseurs and taken on an exclusive, private tour and tasting. Founded in 1851, Seppeltsfield is now known for its tradition of releasing a 100-year old vintage wine every year, and is the only vineyard in the world to do so. With such an extensive history, Seppeltsfield is one of the few places in the world where you can taste Tawny made in your birth year. An estimated 300,000 people visit the Seppeltsfield winery each year, but we will be among the few to witness a behind the scenes look through the estate's eclectic collection of historical buildings and spectacular surroundings. Additionally, we will learn the fascinating story of the Seppelt family history and their profound influence on the Australian wine industry. To finish our visit at Seppeltsfield, we will enjoy a delectable two course meal and undoubtedly a glass of wine, amongst the breathtaking views of the rolling hills of the Barossa Valley vineyards.
After our meal, we will board the coach for our return journey to the pier from the Barossa Valley.
Approximate Length: Seven hours
