Each autumn, New England and nearby Canada become the epicenter of the world for "leaf peepers". There is simply no better place to witness the drama of the leaves changing colors in a palette of fiery reds, sunny yellows and bold oranges. Cruising only enhances the performance, as the views change daily and the promise of another, equally stunning spectacle always lies on the horizon. What better way to complement the scenery than with an array of classic ports - the definitive seaside villages of New England, Canada's exquisite French-speaking metropolises and, as the perfect coda, America's genteel South.

Exclusive Shore Event: Boston | City Sights, Museum of Fine Arts, & Lunch
Cobblestone streets and high-tech companies blend together perfectly in this historic New England city. Boston offers such legendary attractions as Paul Revere's home, the Bunker Hill Monument, and the U.S. Constitution (Old Ironsides).
We will get an overview of the city as we explore the major neighborhoods and sights by coach and by foot such as Beacon Hill, Boston's most prestigious address. We will see the gold-domed State House and the Public Garden. We will also visit Back Bay, an elegant section of Boston that includes Newbury St, the shopping capital of Boston and pass by the Theater District and Chinatown. Our circuit will also include the South End, which boasts the largest Victorian neighborhood in the United States, and Fenway Park, the oldest ballpark in the Major League with its "Green Monster". Our drive will take us along part of the Freedom Trail where we will see the Old South Meeting House, Old Granary Burial Ground, King's Chapel and Faneuil Hall. We'll visit the Waterfront and then walk into the North End, Boston's famous Italian neighborhood and see the Old North Church, the site of the beginning of Paul Revere's famous "midnight ride". We will then cross the bridge into Charlestown to see "Old Ironsides", the U.S.S. Constitution before we move on to the Museum of Fine Arts.
Bostonians have always supported the arts and the Museum of Fine Arts is a grand example of this commitment housing approximately 350,000 objects. We will view the incomparable collections of paintings, sculpture, decorative arts, drawings and photographs, representing Eastern and Western cultures from ancient times to the present. To make these collections even more meaningful, our fine arts lecturer will interpret the masterpieces of art as they were perceived by various artists and cultures throughout the ages. This is a fascinating tour and one you will long remember. Following our tour, you will have time on your own to browse through the museum and gift shop.
At the conclusion of our museum visit, we will precede to Davio's, one of Boston's finest restaurants. After 18 years of success on Newbury Street, Davio's relocated to a Back Bay furniture building. This huge building permits them to have an enormous display kitchen, a large room for storage of over 300 varieties of wine, and an in-house bakery. We will enjoy a three-course luncheon with wine.
Approximate Length: Six hours.
Suggested Attire: Casual wear with comfortable shoes. Light to moderate walking.
PLEASE NOTE: All Virtuoso events ashore are capacity controlled and require a minimum number of participants to operate. Events are subject to change without notice. These events are individually tailored for each date and arrival. Your event could be different than what is noted here; but it will be designed to be memorable and to bring you a traveler's view that you will treasure, and would otherwise miss entirely. Final details will be outlined in program letters provided by your Virtuoso host aboard ship.
