Exclusive Shore Event: Halifax | Peggy's Cove, Lunenberg, & Lunch

The capital city of Nova Scotia is a charming mix of old and new. The beautiful skyline reflects this charm: modern skyscrapers blend seamlessly with 18th- and 19th-century colonial architecture. Halifax has been Canada's year-round ocean gateway to the Atlantic and Europe for centuries its harbors remain ice-free year round.
Our day begins by boarding our deluxe motor coach and joining our kilted guide, who will introduce us to the delights of Halifax as we travel from the commercial downtown area, through the residential districts before leaving town via the Northwest Arm.
After a stunning scenic drive, we will arrive approximately 60 minutes later at Peggy's Cove, which has been an artists' and explorers' paradise for well over 150 years.  This village is located right on the rugged Atlantic shoreline, standing on solid rock above the crashing surf.  The coastline is famous for pirates, shipwrecks, rum running and sunsets. Enjoy some time to explore the granite outpost where the iconic Peggy's Cove Lighthouse sits - the original light house built in 1868 the year after Canada's Confederation.
Afterwards, we continue along the South Shore to Lunenburg. Commonly known as "the prettiest town in Canada", Lunenburg has recently been named one of the world's few UNESCO World Heritage Sites by the United Nations.  Now a bustling fishing port, Lunenburg was once considered to be the busiest shipbuilding town in the world, and was the birthplace of the world-famous racing schooner Bluenose. The town's distinctive architecture and extraordinary scenic beauty is a colorful reminder of our maritime heritage.
While in Lunenburg, we will enjoy a delicious lunch at the Old Fish Factory Restaurant complete with a local fiddler to provide live music!
On the return drive to Halifax, a brief picture stop will also be made in Mahone Bay, famous for its picturesque scene of three waterfront churches.

Approximate Length: Seven hours.

Suggested Attire: Casual with a light sweater or jacket as it can be cooler near the water; moderate walking with some inclines and unpaved surfaces.

PLEASE NOTE: All Virtuoso events ashore are capacity controlled and require a minimum number of participants to operate. Events are subject to change without notice.
