Exclusive Shore Event: Auckland | Maori Heritage with Harborside Lunch
New Zealand comes alive in vibrant Auckland, embraced on two sides by aquamarine harbors. Depart the pier on a panoramic drive through downtown, where heritage buildings are threaded amongst high-rises and modern structures. Pass by the upscale Viaduct Harbour and new Wynyard Quarter neighborhood while following the city's waterfront to Mission Bay - an affluent suburb famed for its idyllic beach - and Bastion Point Lookout for views over the Hauraki Gulf. Continue through Parnell, Auckland's oldest and arguably prettiest suburb, on the way to Tmaki Paenga Hira (Auckland War Memorial Museum) for an exclusive tour. The Maori Galleries are of particular interest, filled with more than 1,000 precious First Peoples' artifacts including original full-size buildings, a hand-carved war canoe, impressive fiberworks, and tools for hunting and fishing.
Our day concludes at the landmark Auckland Ferry Building and Harbourside Ocean Bar Grill, one of the city's top dining venues. Sip a glass of welcome bubbles before sitting down to a locally sourced, seafood-centric lunch paired with wine or cocktails, soaking in the waterfront ambiance on the restaurant's deck.
Approximate Length: 6 hours, 30 minutes
Suggested Attire/Walking Notes: Smart-casual attire and comfortable walking shoes. Total walking is less than half a mile, with around 40 steps.
